Crafting wheat into bread doesn't actually make it worth more, you can just sell more at once

Wheat is the best because u can grow a lot in a short space and as your herbalism gets higher it becomes op.

I think it depends. If you're not wanting to bother harvesting and have time to build the farm + some cash onhand, cactus or sugarcane might be your way to go. Also, sugarcane doesn't require a furnace system in order to sell. Different drugs sell for higher amounts when boosted. If you prefer manual labor, @sky is right on point

You can always do /drugs in-game and see which drug sells for the most and just base it off of that
