Raiding

From MCLabs

Raiding is a key component of factions and if you plan to venture out into the Faction World you will most likely face it in one way or another. Raiding is the process of locating and gaining access to someone else's storage, base, and/or valuables. Raiding takes many forms which will be gone over in the following sections. The subcategories of raiding can be boiled down into 2 main types tunneling (strip mining) and faction land raiding.

Tunneling

Tunneling is quite a simple way of raiding. Tunneling is where the player gets a pickaxe and/or shovel and sets out into any of the worlds to dig underground in the hopes that they will locate another player's unclaimed farm or vault. Once located anything can be done such as griefing or just moving loot out. It is important to note that most modifications that could make base finding easier are strictly forbidding and will result in a ban depending on severity. This includes but is not limited to mods such as x-ray, world download, replay mod, free cam mods, hacked clients, x-ray texture packs, and certain types of minimaps with cave finder or radar (see rules page for more information).

Faction Land Raiding

This is the more typical form of raiding that is thought of in factions. This is where players usually set up cannons to break into claimed land or a base. There are multiple ways to raid faction land using large sophisticated cannons all the way down to the simple noob tube TNT cannons. A very important note is that the server is 1.18.2 this means cannons from older versions will NOT work. They need to be made for this version more specifically. These changes and differences can be tested in the creative world with /creative. While the actual details of cannoning are very extensive more specific questions regarding it should be asked in support tickets if you can not obtain an answer in-game or via the wiki as cannon can be a relatively niche subject. Another important note is the server does have a 2,000 TNT limit per cannon. Exceeding this limit will cause your cannon to blow up so when making cannons be sure to account for this hard cap. Currently, there are no big publicly released cannons for this version. Meaning regen busting (the act of breaking a regen wall) or stacking large quantities of sand all at once will have to be made in cannons that are made by cannoners within your team/faction. However, for smaller raids, there are some publicly released cannons. One cannon that can be recommended to almost everyone is the “3x3 slime hybrid”; a simple YouTube search will give players a guide to building and how to use it. For players looking for something with more power behind it they may look to 1 stacker with longer ranges or concrete cannons (note concrete cannons only work on water walls so be sure to consider that both when raiding or making a base). For these cannons, there aren't specific builds for them but a search on youtube should yield helpful results. Staff members that are versed in cannons should also be able to help if you run into any problems with this. Finally, the last note is in regard to how to break water or lava walls. One must combine sand and TNT once they are shot out of the cannon to hybrid them together. Now that the TNT is inside of sand it isn’t considered to be in the water and can therefore deal damage to blocks around it even if submerged in sand or water. Obsidian is breakable as well on this server and its durability depends on where you are. To check its durability right click on it with a potato to see your progress on breaking it with TNT or other explosives.
